I have been trying to work on giving each one of my kids more individual time with me...some special alone time with each one of my kids, where they don't have to share my lap or my attention. You know a moment in which I am not playing referee between the two of them (which seems to be happening more often than not around here lately) or trying to change a diaper while trying to look at the other ones special drawing...just a moment with mom.
So this morning Parker woke up (exceptionally) early, and since Quin was still sound asleep I decided that now was the perfect time to grab that special alone time with her....I gave her a few options, help me cook breakfast, read a book, color, or paint her nails. After giving it some serious thought, she decided she wanted to read a book. So, I sent her off to the play room to pick out a couple books to read and after 3 to 5 minutes of me waiting, wondering what the heck was taking her so long I came into the play room to find that she had not chosen a book but instead was using the books to make "houses" for her My Little Ponies....So sometimes you just have to go with the flow and that is just what I did! :) I had an awesome time just chatting away with her, and playing...these are the moments I will always remember and hold dear to my heart cause I know sooner or later I will have to BEG her to hang out with me... ;)
